Waiting for an echo by One Good Sonnet.

Recently finished: First Impressions by Elizabeth Hooton. Highly remcommended. Very enjoyable read. Darcy's and Elizabeth's genders are switched in this story. The author wrote a very credible and endearing young Mr. Bennet and Miss Darcy. <3

Yeap, I'm in a Pride of Prejudice phase...

Wanted to draw a portrait of my and Kris' oc Kaden for a bit. And finally, did it.
I've been trying to optimize things so that I can paint faster and it seems to be working! :)

Life's been keeping me away for LJ. But not from fanfic!

I'm reading Eomer/Lothíriel stories at the moment and I have these three completed stories to recommend (along all things written by their talented authors).

Juxtaposition by Deandra
Takes place in a scenario where Theodred did not die. Eomer and Lothíriel fall in love just as usual, but his perceived different stations make him reluctant to pursue her. I loved to see Eomer so in love, but so controlled with her. I wanted to whack him upside down myself. :D

Tide of Destiny Part One: Choices by Lady BlueJay
I liked how the author developed Lothiriel's character after a dark episode during her childhood left the princess insecure and frightened.

On the Wings of the Storm by Lialathuveril
Very nice portrayal of Lothíriel. When she is sent away from Dol Amroth to Rohan for her safety, she encounters unexpected danger and must take control of her life (not always making the right choice). This portrayal made her quite likable, strong-willed and kind.

As far of WIPs, I'm currently following The Adbuction of Eomer King of Rohan and it is delightfully humorous. :)

I caught a strep (or it caught me, really). The doctor gave me something yesterday at last. But he warned me that I should start feeling better by tomorrow. So, I'm a little down. On top of that I read some very disturbing news...

Anyways, I gotta remember the good things and along those lines... A happy thing happened too.

So, this was a special kind of week for me and I needed something to cheer me up. I found an amazing speed painting video (a set of four, actually) by BikerScout. And I thought that I wanted to give his techniques a try. I really enjoyed it. This was done in about 4 hours (I'm a newbie at this, what can I say?), without any reference for shading or form. There were lots of mistakes and corrections around the eye/eyebrow area.

Revising this took forever. While fiddling I've realized how truly impatient I am, yet, I'm was not ready to quit, although temptation struck several times... (I'm so ready to paint something else, tho! :S :D).
